2015 Winner: THE CROSSOVER
The 2015 winner of the Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award is: Alexander, Kwame. 2014. The Crossover. Boston: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Click HERE for a readers' guide for The Crossover.
SYLVIA: Both Brown's "...TIGER" and Nelson's "...VILLAGE" were designated LION AND UNICORN award winners which is quite coincidental among awards. Also both books were 2016 LBH Honor Books not 2015. The publication years do get confusing. Thank you so much for this post to keep all of us up to date with poetry...a genre we need more than ever before.

ReplyDeletePS: The LBH/Penn State Award reaches its 25th Anniversary this year. It was the first and still the only award of its kind in the United States.
